In what is likely the world’s latest new-hire announcement, I would like everyone to meet Bill Mericle, Encore’s new(ish) Executive Creative Director.
If you’ve been lucky enough to meet Bill over the last several months, then you’ve experienced the dynamism, energy and infectious enthusiasm he brings to our growing portfolio of clients.
If you haven’t met Bill, then buckle up. Experiencing his work will give you new respect and zeal for exactly what can be accomplished in the experiential realm.
Which brings me to one of my favorite points about Bill. He’s a relative newby in the experiential world, having spent most of his career leading creative for above the line campaigns in “traditional” media. But despite this he’s literally the most experiential creative I’ve ever worked with.
In fact, he’s the only creative I’ve ever known to successfully make the transition from traditional advertising to experiential.
In his short time with Encore Bill has helped win business with a host of new clients, including RB’s Air Wick and Lysol brands, plus Anheuser-Busch, Samsung and Edgewell Personal Care. At this writing he is helping us develop campaigns for almost a dozen national brands .
Bill previously served as ECD at Havas Chicago. His industry awards include Cannes, Clios, Best-of Ad-Age, New York Festivals, Art Director’s Club, Adweek Best, Hugo, Addy, Effies, Tempo, Obies, Silver Microphone, Racies, Chicago Film Festivals, FWAs, Genesis Awards and The Webby Awards.
Most importantly, he’s a genuinely warm, funny, easy-to-work-with guy, the kind of leader you wish you could clone into a world-dominating team of creatives. Given more time, maybe we can figure out how to do just that.
Welcome Bill!
